(BRONSON) – After saying No in May, voters in the Bronson School District approved a millage request on Tuesday.
The millage proposal was for 4.98 mills. It passed on Tuesday with 900 Yes votes to 847 No votes. It’s projected to bring in $29.91 million.
The millage will be used to do renovations at Anderson Elementary School, to allow it to become a K-5 building and take in the students at the current Ryan Elementary School.
The renovation work would include adding classrooms, a gymnasium, expanding the cafeteria, HVAC updates, along with electrical infrastructure and new windows.
The proposal would also include the construction of a new 8 lane metric track at the High School, allowing Bronson to host MHSAA sanctioned events in the future.
