(LANSING) – The City of Bronson is getting State funds to do work on one of their streets.

The State announced the Bronson will receive a $199,155 grant through the Community Service Infrastructure Fund Category B program. The money will be used for work on Compton Street.

This year program is distributing grants to 39 small Michigan communities to support various road infrastructure projects. The CSIF program, which is managed by the Michigan Department of Transportation, grants money to communities with populations under 10,000 to finance projects aimed at extending the useful life of roads, including resurfacing and pavement preservation.

Grant awards ranged from $50,000 to $250,000 and can be used for road resurfacing, culvert replacement, pavement crack sealing and other preservative measures.
