Sturgis girls beat Mendon 56-20 in Holiday Tournament
(STURGIS) – The host Sturgis girls basketball team beat Mendon in an opening round game of the Sturgis Holiday Tournament. Head Coach Andy Phillips says his team was aggressive, getting deflections and finished better around the hoop. Cora Phillips led the Lady Trojans with a game high 13 points. Madison Webb added 11 points and Sydney Bir had 10 points. Mendon got 9 points from Gracie Schultz and 4 from Cienna Nightingale. Sturgis is now 4-3 and will face Niles Brandywine in tonight’s Tournament Championship game. Mendon is 1-5 and will face Centreville in the Consolation Game.
